  • Traffic Violations & Fine Schedule 2-7-22
  • Zoning Amendments 02-21-22
    • The purpose of these zoning changes is to remove barriers to the development of residential long-term housing. The changes remove district-specific regulations regarding interior dimensions of residential dwellings and instead defers to Michigan Building, Residential, and Construction codes. These changes also allow large houses in the R-1 district to add an interior apartment, so that more than one family can reside in such dwellings; allow 35% lot coverage on R-1 properties; and in R-2 districts more than one residence can now be built on a property.
  • Zoning Amendments 04-18-22
    • The purpose of these zoning changes is to clarify that people cannot reside in trailers, campers, RVs, tents, or camp on otherwise vacant property or on city-owned property. This does not seek to restrict residents' ability to park their own private camping vehicles in their yards/driveways. 
  • Peddlers & Solicitors Ordinance Amendments 07-05-22
    • The St. Ignace Peddlers and Solicitors Ordinance is intended to protect the health, safety, and welfare of St. Ignace residents and businesses by licensing transient vendors, controlling the location of operation of such vendors, and by limiting the number allowed to operate within the city. Special Events Organizers are allowed to contract with and invite transient vendors as part of an approved Special Event, providing that Special Event Vendors comply with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations. It is the City of St. Ignace’s intent to allow events and vending such that the vitality of downtown St. Ignace improves, remains healthy, and serves to benefit the community.
  • Zoning Amendments 7-18-22
    • The purpose of these zoning changes is to extend the allowed time for people to stay in recreational vehicles on residential property, as well as to allow those that are actively building a residence in St. Ignace to stay in a recreational vehicle during construction. 
  • Amended Short-term Rental Ordinance 12-29-22
    • The short-term rental ordinance has been amended to remove the requirement that Category 2 short-term rental operators receive a variance from the ZBA.
