Water Main/Hydrant Flushing Program

Semi-annually, in May and October, the Water Department flushed, drains, and visually inspects all 262 hydrants in the system. Starting May 2nd through May 13th the City's flushing program will be run. The City is divided into ten sections and each section is to be flushed separately, starting at the Water Plant. The last section to be flushed will be in St. Ignace Township. The hours flushing will be done are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You may notice some cloudy water for a short time, if you have problems you can call 643-7451 (billing) or 643-9670 (plant) with questions.
