05.14.24 BOD Workshop Notice

This Title VI public meeting is an opportunity to learn about the Title VI Indian Education. Parents, community members, and tribal citizens will share recommendations for the proposed EUP regional consortium program plan of the 2024-2025 school year (Tahquamenon Area Schools, EUPISD Learning Center and Lake Superior Academy). This public meeting is intended to share the proposed programming plans which will meet special academic and cultural needs of our Native American (Anishinaabe) students. Title VI Public Hearing

The Sault Tribe Election Commission will be conducting the Primary Election on Thursday, May 23, 2024, beginning 5 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at Kewadin Casinos in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. There will be no Zoom option for attendance; however, Sault Tribe Video Producer Joseph Street will be on site to livestream the event to Facebook. As always, tribal members are welcome to attend to watch the process in person and get live updates that way.

Notice of increase in the number of units for the vegetable and meat/poultry/fish categories and addition of new foods: Beginning June 1, 2024, the amount of food offered in the FDPIR Food Package will increase. These changes support healthy eating by providing increased access to nutritious foods.

42nd Annual Baaweting Homecoming Powwow

Sault Tribe Behavioral Health proudly welcomes Officer Jermaine Galloway, aka “The Tall Cop.”

Save the Date! Join us Monday, July 1, 2024, 8 a.m.-12 p.m., at DreamMakers Theater, 2186 Shunk Rd. in Sault Ste. Marie for an educational training to identify the drug trends in our community to prevent substance misuse. Adults-only, free event open to the public. Continental breakfast included. Please arrive at 7:30 for registration and breakfast.

Stop in for 15-20 minutes after the event to visit the Hidden in Plain Sight trailer, 18-plus.
