St. Ignace City Manager - Michael Stelmaszek
The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer for the City and is responsible for the day-to-day operations. The City Manager is appointed by and serves as adviser to the City Council. His role is to formulate recommendations to the City Council which in turn, translate to good public policy that are adopted by the City Council and then carried out by City Departments. The City Manager attends all meetings of the City Council and reports directly to them on all matters.
Among other duties, the City Manager prepares and presents the annual budget, assists in planning strategies to achieve City Council goals, and coordinates day-to-day operations to ensure integration of services among City Departments.
His ultimate goal is the delivery of quality, dependable and cost effective services that improve the quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors alike.
